Serhii Plokhii will lecture during the week of November 3-6, 2025.

A towering figure in the fields of Russian and Ukrainian history, Serhii Plokhii has published widely on the intellectual, cultural, and international history of the region. Published in three languages–English, Ukrainian, and Russian–his work has gained international recognition. Plokhii’s work covers a vast time period, from medieval history in The Origins of the Slavic Nation to recent history with The Russo-Ukrainian War: The Return of History and the recently released Chernobyl Roulette: War in the Nuclear Disaster Zone. His books have won over 20 awards, including the Ballie Gifford Prize and the Shevchenko National Prize. Plokhii also writes eloquently and compellingly for general audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
